Foxes in Love

Here is a new image I’ve been working on. When I first sketched it, (see below) I had much less going on but after listening to Will Terry’s February Third Thursday about adding more to your illustrations, it changed everything and for the better. It’s not #draw50things but #draw25things can work for this one. My next image will be #draw50things and now I see him talking about perspective, so maybe I will add that too. Would love to hear your thoughts? Let me know what you think. #kidlit #shannonassociates #draw50things #draw25things #willterry  foxserandeonriver

History – Waterloo Village Stanhope, NJ

An AMAZING weekend filled with History and fun!
Last night Waterloo Village had trick-or-treating!
Waterloo Village is a 19th-century canal town in Byram Township, Sussex County, New Jersey. This village contains a working gristmill, a general store, blacksmith shop, a canal museum and several historic houses. The village is located on the banks of the Morris Canal. An early 19th-century log cabin farm site and 17th-century Lenape Indian Village exhibit are also located at the site. It was so fun to walk through as the sun was setting! I hope they decide to have more exciting events here for the kids and adults to enjoy! This is a little bit of history everyone, young and old will enjoy!
Enjoy the amazing pictures below!

The best part of the night!
The outside movie showing “Diary of a Wimpy Kid!”

I should have become a party planner. I love every part of it, from designing the invites, to making the favors, to planning the party, even the stress thinking it might be too cold and too insane to have an outdoor party in October on one of the coldest days of the season.
Maybe that will be my new adventure!

Wall of Hooks

IMG_2147 IMG_2151 IMG_2153 IMG_5664 (1)

Since we moved into this house September 2014, I wanted to do something to this wall! I searched Pinterest (check out my Pinterest DIY project page) for all different wall options. I wanted to paint the wall, but that would lead us into painting our entire Kitchen, which I am so NOT ready to take on! The previous owners had an old coat rack with an unusable shelf on the wall dating back from the 1970’s. Well, first I decided let’s take down the coat rack and we’ll see what we have. Of course when we took down the coat rack there was an unpainted (white outline) of it. Is that what people do when they get tired and older?! I decided to buy 2 pieces of wood and place the thicker one right over the old unpainted coat rack outline and a thinner piece slightly below so we could put bags, etc. I had these old hooks from many years ago and knew they would come in handy some day. We stained the wood and put it all together. I also bought some knobs, which some people in my house thought might not quite work, but I knew they would. Well here you have it one more project done!
