In case your looking for a really cute idea for the kids on Thanksgiving. Here is a fun goody bag you can make very easily for the kids. I made these for the bunch of kids that came last year to Thanksgiving. You can have your kids help make them too. They’ll love it. Add some crafts, candy, fun stuff inside. It will keep them occupied until food is ready! Enjoy!
Since we moved into this house September 2014, I wanted to do something to this wall! I searched Pinterest (check out my Pinterest DIY project page) for all different wall options. I wanted to paint the wall, but that would lead us into painting our entire Kitchen, which I am so NOT ready to take on! The previous owners had an old coat rack with an unusable shelf on the wall dating back from the 1970’s. Well, first I decided let’s take down the coat rack and we’ll see what we have. Of course when we took down the coat rack there was an unpainted (white outline) of it. Is that what people do when they get tired and older?! I decided to buy 2 pieces of wood and place the thicker one right over the old unpainted coat rack outline and a thinner piece slightly below so we could put bags, etc. I had these old hooks from many years ago and knew they would come in handy some day. We stained the wood and put it all together. I also bought some knobs, which some people in my house thought might not quite work, but I knew they would. Well here you have it one more project done!
Remember this little guy from last week? Well, I wanted to give you an update on our little Chipmunk baby. I contacted Morris Plains Animal Clinic today. I was worried the little guy/girl didn’t make it. They said he/she is doing well and with the Dr. at their home since they weren’t in the office today. I knew I did the right thing that day. That little guy/girl is a fighter and they said they will be taking care of it until it can go to the Antler Ridge Wildlife Rescue. I will keep checking in and try to get over to see the little guy/girl later this week. Keep praying for this little chipmunk! We’ve nicknamed him/her Alvin!
What is publishing looking for these days? I would love to hear from Publishing professionals as well as professional Illustrators, their thoughts on these questions:
- Artist Agent or Not?
- Printed samples vs. emailed links to a digital portfolio?
- Book dummy written & illustrated by the Artist or just Illustrations?
I am a freelance Illustrator and Designer. I worked full-time as an Art Director and Illustrator in both Children’s publishing and Gift products for over 10 years. For the past 7 years I have been freelancing while raising my children. My goal is to push my freelance Illustration and Design business now that my children are a bit older. Can you give any suggestions as well as answers to the above questions?
